The game, held at Cardinal Stadium in front of an attendance of 58,187 spectators, saw the Fighting Irish establish dominance early on. The first quarter ended with both teams locked at 14 points each. However, as the game progressed into subsequent quarters, Notre Dame pulled away decisively. They scored seven points in each remaining quarter while holding Louisville to just three points in the fourth quarter.

Notre Dame's offense was relentless throughout the game. Their rushing attack accumulated an impressive total of 230 yards across 42 attempts which translates to an average gain per rush attempt close to six yards. This ground dominance was complemented by four rushing touchdowns; one notable touchdown covered a distance of eleven yards into the end zone.

Through the air, Notre Dame's passing game was equally efficient with a completion percentage rounding up to sixty-one percent from twenty-three attempts and yielding one touchdown pass that connected for twenty-six yards. The passing offense contributed significantly to their total yardage count which stood at an imposing figure of 413 yards by game end.

Special teams also played their part for Notre Dame; kickoffs traveled for a total distance of 371 yards with two touchbacks among them and punts were effectively placed inside Louisville's twenty-yard line twice without any being blocked or returned for touchdowns.

Defensively, Notre Dame made its presence felt by recovering three fumbles and sacking Louisville quarterbacks four times for lost yardage totaling twenty-eight yards. These efforts limited opportunities for Louisville and contributed to keeping them off balance throughout most parts of the contest.

The efficiency within scoring range was perfect for Notre Dame as they capitalized on all four red zone opportunities presented during this encounter – maintaining a hundred percent success rate both within red zone and goal-to-go situations.

As fans look forward to more action from their team, they can mark their calendars for September 14 when Notre Dame will host New Mexico Lobos at Notre Dame Stadium located in South Bend IN (zip code:46616). This upcoming home game is scheduled to commence at approximately 2:30 PM local time and will be broadcasted live on NBC network channels.
