Key Performances on Offense


The Notre Dame offense was unstoppable, amassing a total of 578 yards with an average gain of 8 yards per play. The ground game was particularly dominant, contributing 362 rushing yards to the tally. Quarterback Riley Leonard led with both precision and agility, throwing for 112 yards and adding another dimension with his legs by rushing for 100 yards and scoring three touchdowns. Running back Jeremiyah Love also had a standout performance with 109 rushing yards and one touchdown on just ten carries.


Receiving contributions were widespread but Jayden Harrison stood out by catching two passes for a total of 47 yards. Tight end Cooper Flanagan made his presence felt in the red zone by securing a touchdown reception that contributed to Notre Dame's early lead.


Defensive Dominance


Notre Dame's defense was equally impressive, stifling Purdue's offense throughout the game. The defensive line applied constant pressure resulting in four sacks and five quarterback hits. Boubacar Traore showcased his defensive prowess by not only recording one sack but also returning an interception for a touchdown.


Jaylen Sneed made critical plays as well by forcing a fumble that kept momentum firmly in Notre Dame’s favor. The defense as a whole limited Purdue to just seven points, demonstrating their ability to control the pace and flow of the game effectively.
