Key Highlights

The Notre Dame Stadium witnessed an impressive display by the Fighting Irish, particularly in their rushing game which accumulated a total of 270 yards across 36 attempts. Quarterback Riley Leonard led with an outstanding performance, rushing for 143 yards on just 12 carries and scoring two touchdowns. His longest run stretched for an impressive 50 yards, marking one of the game's highlights.

On defense, Notre Dame was equally formidable. Boubacar Traore stood out with two sacks and a forced fumble contributing significantly to limiting the RedHawks' offense throughout the game. The defense as a whole tallied four sacks and forced two turnovers via interceptions by Christian Gray and Junior Tuihalamaka, further stifling any momentum from Miami (OH).

Special teams also played a pivotal role in Notre Dame's win. Punter James Rendell averaged nearly 45 net yards across four punts, placing two within the opponent's 20-yard line which helped maintain field position advantageously for Notre Dame.

Player Performances

Several players had notable performances that contributed to this comprehensive win. Beaux Collins was Leonard’s favorite target catching four passes for 60 yards including a touchdown reception that spanned for 38 yards – his longest catch of the day.

Jeremiyah Love also made significant contributions to Notre Dame’s ground game alongside Leonard. Love rushed for 60 yards on eleven attempts finding his way into end zone once as well.

Defensively aside from Traore’s standout performance; Xavier Watts made his presence felt by forcing a fumble adding another layer to an already impenetrable defensive showing by Notre Dame against Miami (OH).
