At Bill Snyder Family Football Stadium, a crowd of 50,394 witnessed an intense battle where the home team secured victory. The game saw the Oklahoma Sooners put up a valiant effort on offense with a total of 486 yards gained and four touchdowns scored. The passing game was particularly effective; quarterback play resulted in 395 passing yards with an impressive completion rate of approximately 70 percent and one touchdown pass that went for an astounding 70 yards.


The rushing attack added another dimension to the Sooners' offense, contributing three touchdowns and accumulating over 100 yards on the ground. Despite two fumbles by the team, one resulting in a turnover, they managed to maintain possession for nearly half of the game time.

Special teams also played their part; all four field goal attempts were successful with one being from beyond fifty yards out. Kickoff duties were well-handled too as half of them ended up as touchbacks due to strong kicking that averaged over fifty yards per kickoff.


On defense, while no interceptions were recorded by either side during this contest, Oklahoma did manage to sack Kansas State's quarterback once for seven lost yards. Penalties seemed controlled as only five flags were thrown against them amounting to just over fifty penalty yards.

The Wildcats countered effectively throughout each quarter but especially during periods two and three where they tallied thirty-four points combined compared to just six from their opponents in those same quarters. Their ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities was evident as they matched every move made by their rivals.
