In an intense game at the Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, the home team displayed remarkable offensive skills but fell short against a determined Kansas State team. The Sooners amassed a total of 550 yards, with their passing game contributing significantly to this tally. The quarterback's arm was on full display as he completed 26 out of 39 passes for an impressive total of 330 yards and four touchdowns, including one that connected for a long gain of 56 yards.

The ground game also proved effective for the Sooners, churning out 220 rushing yards over 34 attempts. Their longest run stretched for an impressive distance of 26 yards, although they did not manage to find the end zone through rushing plays.

Special teams played their part too; field goal kickers were perfect on the day with two successful attempts from beyond forty yards. Kickoff units managed to keep pressure on by ensuring five touchbacks from six kickoffs.

Despite these efforts, penalties seemed to plague the home side as they accumulated eleven penalties amounting to eighty-seven penalty yards throughout the contest – figures that certainly impacted momentum and field position during critical moments in the game.

On defense, while no sacks were recorded by either team and interceptions were absent from both sides' stat sheets, there was still notable defensive effort from both teams. The Sooners' defense managed three tackles for loss totaling seven negative yardage against their opponents.

Looking ahead after this hard-fought battle under lights before an attendance crowd numbering over eighty-four thousand fans, fans can mark their calendars for another exciting matchup featuring their beloved Oklahoma Sooners.
