Oklahoma Sooners Dominate Nebraska Cornhuskers at Memorial Stadium in College Football Showdown

The Oklahoma Sooners, with a record of 6-7, faced off against the Nebraska Cornhuskers, standing at 4-8, in a game that ended with the Sooners outscoring their opponents 49-14. The game took place at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, NE, where the Sooners demonstrated their offensive capabilities.

The Oklahoma offense was relentless throughout the game. The team's passing attack was efficient as they completed 19 passes for a total of 268 yards and three touchdowns. Their quarterback posted an impressive passer rating of 171 while maintaining a completion percentage of over 63 percent. The longest pass completed went for 38 yards and contributed to one of their touchdowns which had a maximum length of 25 yards.


On the ground, the Sooners were just as dominant. They amassed an impressive total rushing yardage of 312 on 54 attempts. This included one remarkable touchdown run that covered over half the field at 61 yards. Their average per carry stood strong at nearly six yards.

Special teams also played well for Oklahoma; they executed eight kickoffs totaling to an impressive distance and managed seven touchbacks out of those attempts.


Defensively, Oklahoma made its presence felt by recording four sacks and forcing two fumbles during the course of play – recovering one themselves – which showcased their ability to disrupt Nebraska's offense effectively.

Penalties were relatively low for both teams with only six infractions committed by Oklahoma totaling up to just over half a hundred penalty yards.


The scoring breakdown by quarters showed that Oklahoma established dominance early on with fourteen points in the first quarter while allowing seven points against them. They continued this momentum into the second quarter adding another twenty-one points without response from Nebraska and followed through into third quarter adding fourteen more points to solidify their lead before going scoreless in fourth but still keeping Nebraska limited to only seven additional points.


A notable statistic from this game was that despite having three fumbles during playtime, Oklahoma managed to maintain control over two while losing only one fumble overall.
