Game Highlights


The Sooners' defense was relentless throughout the match, contributing significantly to their victory. They managed to sack Alabama's quarterback once for a loss of five yards and recorded eight tackles for loss totaling 24 yards. The defensive unit also shone in pass protection, intercepting three passes and returning them for a total of 83 yards; one interception was returned for a touchdown by linebacker Kip Lewis, marking a pivotal moment in the game.


On offense, Oklahoma's ground game was unstoppable. They amassed an impressive 257 rushing yards on 50 attempts, averaging over five yards per carry. Running back Xavier Robinson stood out with his performance by rushing for 107 yards on 18 carries and scoring two touchdowns. Quarterback Jackson Arnold also contributed significantly to the running game with 131 rushing yards on his own.


Special Teams Play


Special teams played their part as well with Zach Schmit successfully converting one field goal from within the twenty-nine-yard line but missing another attempt from beyond thirty-nine yards. His consistency on kickoffs was notable as he achieved touchbacks on all five kickoffs.
