At Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium, the Oklahoma State Cowboys showcased an impressive defense against the West Virginia Mountaineers. The Cowboys' defense recorded eight sacks and eleven tackles for loss, which contributed to a total loss of seventy-five yards for the Mountaineers. Additionally, they exerted continuous pressure on the quarterback with eight hits. This defensive effort was complemented by an interception that resulted in two return yards.


On offense, the Oklahoma State passing attack was efficient with twenty-one completions out of thirty-one attempts resulting in one hundred eighty-two yards and two touchdowns. Their completion percentage stood at sixty-eight percent while their passer rating was an admirable one hundred thirty-two. The longest pass completed spanned twenty-eight yards as they managed to convert eight first downs through air.

The ground game added another dimension to their offense as they rushed for one hundred three yards over thirty-two attempts. This included a thirteen-yard touchdown run which contributed to their total of three touchdowns during the game. Their red zone efficiency was flawless with four trips resulting in scores every time.


Special teams also played a role; although no punts were blocked or returned for touchdowns, four punts landed inside the twenty-yard line contributing positively to field position battles.

Penalties were relatively low for both sides; however, it is worth noting that seven penalties were called against Oklahoma State totaling fifty-five penalty yards.
