Oklahoma State Cowboys Edge Notre Dame Fighting Irish at State Farm Stadium in Football Showdown

In an intense game at State Farm Stadium, the Oklahoma State Cowboys demonstrated offensive dominance with a total of 605 yards. The passing game was particularly effective; quarterback play led to four touchdowns and an impressive completion percentage of about 67 percent. The Cowboys' aerial attack amassed 371 yards with an average gain per pass of over seven yards. Notably, their longest pass went for 41 yards.


The ground game also contributed significantly to the offense with 234 rushing yards on 44 attempts. This effort included a long run of 26 yards and an average gain per rush attempt exceeding five yards. Although no rushing touchdowns were recorded by the team, they did achieve first downs on fourteen occasions through their running plays.


Special teams played their part as well; field goal kickers made three out of four attempts with the longest successful kick being from 41 yards out. Additionally, all but one kickoff resulted in touchbacks due to strong kicking that totaled over five hundred yards across eight kicks.


Defensively, the Cowboys managed two sacks and forced one fumble which they recovered themselves for three return yards. Their defensive efforts also included intercepting one pass that was returned for eleven more yards.


Penalties were minimal for both teams during this encounter; Oklahoma State incurred just four penalties totaling forty-five penalty-yards against them throughout the entire game.


Fans witnessed efficient scoring within twenty-yard line as Oklahoma State converted about seventy-eight percent of red zone opportunities into scores and achieved a seventy-five percent success rate when it came down to goal-to-go situations.
