In a clash of collegiate football teams, the Oklahoma State Cowboys with a 7-6 record faced off against the Oklahoma Sooners, who held a 6-7 record. The game ended with the Cowboys scoring 13 and the Sooners securing 28 points.

The Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium was abuzz as an attendance of 84,132 witnessed the Cowboys' offense accumulate a total of 484 yards. Despite their efforts, they were unable to overcome the Sooner's defense. The passing game for the Cowboys saw them complete 36 out of 67 attempts for a total of 381 yards; however, interceptions proved costly with four being thrown. Their longest pass completion was an impressive 55 yards but only resulted in one touchdown pass throughout the game.


The rushing attack added another dimension to their offense but only managed to gain an average of three yards per carry for a total of 103 yards on ground. The team's red zone efficiency stood at sixty percent with five attempts resulting in three successes while their third-down conversion rate was thirty-two percent from twenty-two attempts.

Special teams played its part too; two field goals were successfully made from two attempts, both within twenty-nine yards range contributing six points to their scoreline. Additionally, punt returns yielded twenty-one yards over three attempts.


On defense, the Cowboys managed one sack and forced one fumble which they recovered themselves. They also defended well against passes allowing just one first down due to penalties and making one interception that was returned for eleven yards.
