Looking back at Purdue's performance on December 5, 2020, against Nebraska Cornhuskers, despite a valiant effort and maintaining possession for over 26 minutes with an average gain of nearly 5 yards per play, they fell short by 10 points. The offense was able to rack up a total of 311 yards with no turnovers and achieved a completion percentage of over 70 percent in passing. However, it was marred by penalties amounting to 126 yards which undoubtedly hindered their progress.

In another home game against Rutgers Scarlet Knights on November 28, PUR showcased its offensive prowess by amassing over six yards per play and scoring four touchdowns. They dominated possession time but were again let down by defensive lapses that allowed Rutgers to edge them out by seven points.

The most telling data comes from their away game against Minnesota Golden Gophers on November 21 where PUR exhibited remarkable efficiency in passing with an astounding completion rate of over eighty-one percent and racked up nearly five hundred total yards. Their third-down conversion rate stood at two-thirds success rate; however minor slip-ups including one turnover proved costly as they lost narrowly by three points.

The pattern is clear: Purdue's offense has been consistently strong but needs support from a more disciplined defense and special teams unit that can minimize penalties and capitalize on every scoring opportunity without leaving points off the board due to missed field goals or blocked attempts.

As they prepare for ORS, there is no doubt that PUR will rely heavily on their offensive line's ability to protect the quarterback and create opportunities for both rushing and receiving corps which have shown potential for explosive plays throughout past games. The key will be converting red zone appearances into touchdowns while tightening up defensively to prevent any leaks that have previously plagued them during crunch moments.

Fans should expect PUR's coaching staff to have addressed these issues rigorously in practice sessions leading up to this crucial encounter. With home advantage playing into their hands along with lessons learned from past performances, there is every reason for optimism among the Boilermaker faithful.

Mark your calendars for September 4th when this thrilling matchup kicks off at Ross-Ade Stadium at precisely seven o'clock PM Eastern Time.
