The Rice Owls demonstrated a strong running game, accumulating 267 yards over 44 attempts with an average of six yards per carry. Their rushing efforts were highlighted by a notable 38-yard touchdown run that contributed to their total of three touchdowns for the game. The passing offense managed to add two more touchdowns through the air, completing 17 out of 32 attempts for a total of 103 yards.

Despite these efforts, turnovers proved costly for the Rice team as they gave up three during the course of play. One interception was made by their defense but it did not result in any return yards. On special teams, kick returns were solid with an average return distance of 41 yards and one particularly long return stretching to 54 yards.

The kicking unit had mixed results; while they successfully converted all three extra-point kicks attempted, field goal success was split evenly with one made and one missed from within the range of thirty-nine yards. Penalties seemed controlled as only six were recorded against them totaling fifty-five penalty yards.

On the other side, Wake Forest capitalized on opportunities throughout each quarter except for the last where they did not score any points compared to seven by Rice. The Demon Deacons' offensive production was evident in their final score which doubled that of Rice's total points.

Looking ahead after this tough outing at Truist Field, fans can anticipate seeing how Rice will regroup and prepare for their next challenge. The upcoming game is set against UTSA Roadrunners at Houston's own Rice Stadium on October 6th at approximately 6:00 PM local time (CDT). This event will be broadcasted live on ESPN3 where fans can tune in to support their team as they take on another collegiate adversary on home turf.
