At Joe Aillet Stadium, the Rice Owls struggled to find their rhythm against a determined Louisiana Tech side. Despite their efforts, the Owls fell short as they were outscored by fifteen points. The home team capitalized on their opportunities and maintained control throughout most of the game.

The Rice offense managed to accumulate a total of 312 yards with an average gain of about five yards per play. The passing game saw them complete nineteen passes for 226 yards including one touchdown pass that was also their longest play from scrimmage at sixty-eight yards. However, interceptions proved costly for Rice as they threw three over the course of the game.

On special teams, two field goals were successfully made by Rice from attempts ranging up to forty-two yards out. Their kicking unit had an overall success rate of sixty-seven percent on field goal attempts during this outing.

Defensively, Rice showed some resilience by intercepting two passes and recovering one fumble while also recording one sack for three yards lost by Louisiana Tech's quarterback. These turnovers contributed valuable momentum swings but weren't enough to tilt the balance in favor of Rice.

Louisiana Tech's offense effectively countered with twenty-eight points scored and took advantage of turnovers committed by Rice. They displayed efficiency when it mattered most and kept pressure on the Owl's defense throughout four quarters.

As fans look ahead, they can mark their calendars for when The Rice Owls will take on LSU Tigers at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge. This upcoming contest is scheduled for November 17th at 6:30 PM local time and will be broadcasted on ESPNU satellite channel two hundred eight for those wishing to follow along live.
