Rice Owls Edge Out UTSA Roadrunners: Was It the Defense or Offense That Sealed the Deal?

In a closely contested game at Rice Stadium, the Rice Owls and the UTSA Roadrunners battled it out in Week 7 of the regular season. Matt Sykes caught seven passes for 85 yards and scored one touchdown while Dean Connors showcased his versatility by adding another dimension to his game; he led all receivers with five receptions for an impressive total of 109 yards and one touchdown.


Defensive Standouts


While Rice's offense put up significant numbers, their defense also played a pivotal role in securing this win. The defensive unit forced two fumbles during critical moments in the game – one each by Myron Morrison and Elroyal Morris III – showcasing their ability to make big plays when it mattered most.


Michael Daley's sack added pressure on UTSA's quarterback while Chike Anigbogu recorded another sack along with six tackle loss yards contributing significantly towards halting UTSA's offensive drives.
