First Quarter

The first quarter saw both teams finding their rhythm as they ended tied at 7-7. The Owls showcased an early offensive balance with Chase Jenkins connecting for a touchdown pass to Landon Ransom-Goelz. Meanwhile, the Panthers responded with a strong drive of their own to keep pace.

Second Quarter

Rice took control in the second quarter, outscoring Prairie View A&M by 17 points to none. The Owls' defense tightened up significantly, allowing no points while Cooper King led with impactful tackles and a sack that disrupted the Panthers’ offensive flow. On offense, Quinton Jackson powered through for one of his three rushing touchdowns of the game.

Third Quarter

In the third quarter, both teams managed to add points on the board but it was Aaron Turner's electrifying 52-yard touchdown run that stole the spotlight for Rice. This play highlighted Turner's speed and agility as he dashed past defenders into open field.

Fourth Quarter

The final quarter saw each team adding another touchdown apiece. Tyson Thompson's receiving skills were on display as he caught a crucial pass from Drew Devillier for another score. Despite some late efforts from Prairie View A&M’s offense led by their quarterback's passing attempts, it wasn't enough to close the gap created earlier in the game.

With this win secured under their belt thanks largely due to effective ground tactics and solid defensive stands—Rice looks ahead confidently towards their next matchup against Charlotte 49ers scheduled on September 18th at Jerry Richardson Stadium in Charlotte; fans can catch all action live via ESPN broadcast starting from 7:30 PM EDT!
