In an intense football game at Beaver Stadium, the Rutgers Scarlet Knights struggled to find their rhythm against a formidable Penn State defense. The home team capitalized on their opportunities and controlled much of the game's tempo. Despite a valiant effort by the Scarlet Knights, they were unable to secure touchdowns throughout the contest. Their points came from field goals alone; two successful attempts contributed to their total score.

The offensive efforts of Rutgers were met with resistance as they managed only 229 total yards compared to Penn State's more dominant performance. The passing game for Rutgers was modest with only 130 yards gained through air and an average of almost seven yards per pass attempt. Their rushing attempts amounted to just under three yards per carry for a total of 99 yards on the ground.

Rutgers' special teams had moments of effectiveness as evidenced by one touchback out of two kickoffs and two punts placed inside the twenty-yard line. However, these efforts did not translate into points on the board or significant changes in momentum.

On defense, while there were no sacks recorded by Rutgers, they did force one fumble which they recovered successfully but also gave up three fumbles themselves—two of which resulted in turnovers. Penalties seemed controlled as both teams kept it below double digits; however, six penalties for forty-eight yards assessed against Rutgers indicated discipline issues that may have hindered their progress during crucial moments.

The fourth quarter saw Penn State pull away decisively with fourteen additional points while shutting out any response from Rutgers offensively or defensively—a testament to their control over this phase of play.

Looking ahead after this tough outing at University Park, fans can mark their calendars for when The Rutgers Scarlet Knights will host Maryland Terrapins at SHI Stadium in Piscataway on November 25th at 3:30 PM Eastern Time. This upcoming encounter promises another exciting chapter in college football that fans can watch live on BTN network satellite channel six hundred ten.
