At Snapdragon Stadium, the San Diego State Aztecs showcased an impressive ground game that proved to be a decisive factor against the visiting Idaho State Bengals. The Aztecs' rushing attack accumulated a total of 304 yards over 47 attempts, averaging about six yards per carry. This relentless running effort was punctuated by four touchdowns, including a standout long rush that resulted in a 56-yard touchdown.

The defense also played a critical role for the Aztecs, contributing three sacks and three interceptions while holding their opponents scoreless during the third quarter. Notably, they managed to record one safety and defended three passes throughout the game. The defensive pressure resulted in losses totaling thirteen yards for the Bengals' offense.

Despite committing fourteen penalties amounting to an imposing 125 penalty yards, which could have derailed their efforts, it was not enough to stop them from securing victory on home turf before an attendance of over twenty-two thousand fans.

On special teams, field goal kicking was precise with two successful attempts out of two; one from within thirty-nine yards and another from forty-nine yards out. Both kicks contributed crucial points to secure their lead over Idaho State.

While there were some areas where ball security could be improved – as evidenced by losing two fumbles – it did not significantly impact their overall performance or outcome of this encounter.

Looking ahead after this eventful night at Snapdragon Stadium under outdoor conditions on turf surface with no roof overhead: The San Diego State Aztecs will next face off against UCLA Bruins at home once again here in Snapdragon Stadium located at 9449 Friars Road in sunny San Diego. Fans eager to support can mark their calendars for September ninth when kickoff is scheduled for late evening local time and tune into CBS network where they can catch all live action as it unfolds on screen.
