San Jose State Spartans Shut Out Hawai'i Rainbow Warriors at Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex

The San Jose State Spartans improved their season to 4-5 with a commanding victory over the Hawai'i Rainbow Warriors, who fell deeper into a challenging season at 2-7. The final score read an impressive 35-0 in favor of the visiting team.

At the Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex, the San Jose State Spartans displayed a dominant performance on both sides of the ball against their hosts, the Hawai'i Rainbow Warriors. The Spartans' offense accumulated a total of 468 yards, with an average gain of 6.6 yards per play from their 71 offensive snaps. The rushing attack was particularly effective, churning out 217 yards on the ground over 45 attempts and contributing three touchdowns to the scoreboard.


The passing game for San Jose State was equally efficient as they amassed 251 passing yards with a completion percentage of around 62 percent from their quarterback who had no interceptions on the day and threw for two touchdowns. One touchdown pass was notably impressive as it covered a distance of 24 yards.


Defensively, San Jose State was relentless; they sacked Hawai'i's quarterback four times for a loss of total yardage amounting to approximately thirty-two and recorded six tackles for loss which pushed back Hawai'i by about thirty-one yards overall. Their defensive pressure also led to two interceptions that were returned for fifty-one combined return yards.


Special teams played its part too; while there were no blocked punts or returns for touchdowns, San Jose State's punters managed an average net yardage close to forty-five across two attempts with one landing inside the twenty-yard line.


Penalties were minimal during this game as well; both teams maintained discipline with San Jose State committing only five penalties totaling forty-one penalty yards which did not significantly impact their momentum throughout this contest.
