Can San Jose State Spartans' Defense and Eget's Arm Outshine Oregon State Beavers Again?

In a compelling Week 11 match-up, the San Jose State Spartans improved their season record to 6-3 by securing a victory over the Oregon State Beavers, who fell to a 4-5 record. The final score stood at 24-13 in favor of the Spartans, marking another successful outing for the team.

Pivotal Performances


The game was highlighted by several standout performances from the San Jose State roster. Quarterback Walker Eget threw for an impressive 395 yards, completing 18 out of 35 attempts which included one touchdown pass and one interception. His efforts were pivotal in maintaining offensive momentum throughout the game. Wide receiver Nick Nash emerged as Eget's top target, racking up an astonishing 161 receiving yards on six catches and scoring one touchdown.


On defense, Jordan Cobbs made his presence felt by forcing a fumble that underscored the Spartans' defensive prowess. Taniela Latu also contributed significantly with three tackles and recovering a fumble that halted an Oregon State drive.


Strategic Execution


San Jose State's defense was relentless throughout the game, recording two interceptions and three sacks against Oregon State's offense. DJ Harvey not only contributed with five tackles but also intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown, adding crucial points on the board for his team.


Special teams played their part efficiently as well; Kyler Halvorsen successfully converted one field goal attempt from within 39 yards out of two attempts but had one blocked. The punting duo of Dino Beslagic and Trent Carrizosa combined effectively to keep Oregon State pinned back in their half whenever called upon.
