The Mustangs showcased an impressive offensive display, accumulating a total of 553 yards. The passing game was particularly effective, with the quarterback achieving a stellar passer rating of 207 and completing 23 out of 28 attempts for a total of 300 yards through the air, including three touchdowns. One pass connected for an impressive longest completion of 61 yards, while another resulted in a notable touchdown from 42 yards out.

On the ground, SMU's rushing attack was relentless as well, churning out an average of almost seven yards per carry across their total rushing attempts which amounted to four touchdowns – one being a significant dash covering nearly half the field at 48 yards into the end zone. The team's efficiency shone brightly within scoring range; they were successful on all six redzone attempts and converted every single third-down opportunity they faced.

Special teams also contributed positively to SMU's performance with kickoffs totaling eight for an impressive distance covered and half resulting in touchbacks. Field goal execution was flawless as well with one made from within the range of thirty-nine yards.

While penalties could have been a concern for some teams, SMU maintained discipline throughout most of the game by committing only six infractions that cost them fifty-six penalty yards – not significantly impacting their overall performance.

The Midshipmen did put up points against SMU but struggled to contain their opponent’s dynamic offense. Despite scoring twenty points in the fourth quarter alone and totaling thirty-seven points by game end, it wasn't enough to overcome SMU's lead established earlier on.

Looking ahead after this home victory, Southern Methodist University fans can anticipate watching their team take on Temple Owls at Lincoln Financial Field located in Philadelphia on November seventh at noon Eastern Time broadcasted on ESPN+. This upcoming contest will provide another opportunity for Mustangs supporters to cheer on their squad as they continue through this season’s challenges.
