SMU Mustangs Outscore Houston Cougars in High-Scoring Football Game at Gerald J. Ford Stadium

In a high-octane offensive showcase, the SMU Mustangs emerged victorious over the Houston Cougars with a final score of 77-63. The Mustangs now hold a season record of 7-6, while the Cougars stand at 8-5.

The game, held at Gerald J. Ford Stadium in Dallas, was an exhibition of offensive might from both teams but particularly highlighted the prowess of the SMU offense. The Mustangs' quarterback delivered an exceptional performance with nine passing touchdowns and a completion rate of 76 percent for a total of 379 yards through the air. SMU's efficiency shone brightly in critical situations as evidenced by their perfect red zone conversion rate where they scored on all nine occasions they entered this area and also succeeded on all six attempts when it came down to goal-to-go scenarios.


The crowd at Gerald J. Ford Stadium witnessed quite a spectacle as both teams combined for over one hundred points during four quarters that saw SMU leading each quarter except the third where they added seven points compared to fourteen by Houston.


Looking ahead after this high-scoring affair, fans can anticipate another exciting game as the SMU Mustangs will face off against South Florida Bulls at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa on November 12th at noon Eastern Time (ET).
