The Carrier Dome was filled with an energetic crowd of 30,202 spectators as they watched the Syracuse Orange take on their opponents. Despite a strong start that saw the Orange score seven points in both the first and second quarters, they were unable to maintain momentum throughout the game. The Eagles dominated each quarter, scoring fourteen points in both the first and second quarters and adding another seven points in each of the third and fourth quarters.

The Syracuse offense managed to accumulate a total of 408 yards during the game. The passing attack was particularly effective; quarterback play resulted in two touchdowns through air connections, including one impressive longest touchdown pass of 37 yards. Overall passing yielded an average of over eight yards per attempt with a completion rate rounding up to seventy-one percent.

On ground efforts were also notable for Syracuse as they rushed for an average close to five yards per carry over twenty-eight attempts but failed to reach into endzone via rushing plays. In terms of ball security, however, there were some issues as two fumbles occurred which led to turnovers.

Special teams had mixed results; while kick returns averaged over twenty-three yards across three attempts with one reaching thirty-eight yards long – field goal attempts did not add any points on board due to a missed attempt from beyond fifty yards range.

Defensively speaking, Syracuse managed one sack and forced one fumble which they recovered but could not capitalize by returning it for additional scores. Penalties were minimal for both sides with only two infractions accounting for thirteen penalty-yards against Syracuse.

As fans look ahead after this tough loss at home soil – attention turns towards future games where hopes remain high among supporters that their team can bounce back stronger than before despite this setback against Boston College Eagles who proved too strong on this occasion at Carrier Dome.
