In a challenging encounter at Capital One Field, the Syracuse Orange faced a tough game against the Maryland Terrapins. The Orange, standing at 20-63, were outscored by the Terrapins in a game that saw them struggle to keep pace. The final score reflected the dominance of the home team: 20-63.

Syracuse Orange VS Maryland Terrapins

The Syracuse Orange entered this week's contest with high hopes but found themselves on the back foot early on as they trailed by 14 points after just one quarter. Despite their efforts, they could not contain the offensive surge of the Maryland Terrapins who racked up an additional 21 points in both first and second quarters. The third quarter offered some respite for Syracuse as both teams scored seven points each; however, any momentum gained was quickly stifled by another two touchdowns from Maryland in the fourth quarter.

Syracuse's passing game was one of their few bright spots, with a total yardage of 330 and three touchdowns through aerial efforts. Their longest pass completion resulted in a touchdown covering 52 yards – showcasing their ability to strike from distance when opportunities presented themselves. However, this was overshadowed by four sacks allowed and an interception that hindered their overall offensive effectiveness.

On special teams, Syracuse managed to secure three touchbacks from kickoffs and had five punting attempts which averaged almost 40 yards per punt; three of these pinned Maryland inside their own 20-yard line. In terms of penalties, there were six flags thrown against them for a total loss of only 35 yards – showing discipline despite mounting pressure.

The ground game for Syracuse struggled to gain traction throughout this contest; they amassed just over two yards per carry for a total rushing yardage of merely 70 across all attempts. This lackluster performance contributed significantly to their inability to control possession time or establish any form of consistent offense.

Looking ahead after this tough outing, fans can mark their calendars for an upcoming home game where Syracuse will face off against Clemson Tigers at JMA Wireless Dome on September 14th at approximately half past seven PM Eastern Time (7:30 PM). This event promises another exciting chapter in college football and will be broadcast live on ABC network channels for fans unable to attend in person at JMA Wireless Dome located within zip code area:13244.
