The Texas Christian University Horned Frogs displayed an offensive clinic against the SMU Mustangs, amassing a total of 605 yards throughout the game. The home team's passing attack was particularly effective, with TCU quarterbacks combining for a completion rate of 80 percent and throwing for four touchdowns without any interceptions. One pass even resulted in a remarkable 71-yard touchdown, contributing to their total passing yardage of 365.

TCU's ground game was equally dominant as they rushed for 254 yards and scored three touchdowns, including one that broke free for a notable 38-yard score. Their rushing efforts were consistent throughout the game, averaging over five yards per carry across their 49 attempts.

Special teams also played a role in TCU's victory; although no punts were blocked or returned for touchdowns, they managed two touchbacks from eight kickoffs and secured all eight attempted extra points.

Penalties could have been problematic as TCU accumulated eleven penalties costing them 94 yards; however, this did not significantly hinder their overall performance.

On defense, TCU intercepted two passes from SMU quarterbacks—one of which was returned for an impressive touchdown spanning nineteen yards—showcasing their ability to capitalize on turnovers effectively.

The attendance at Amon G. Carter Stadium witnessed an exciting display by both teams but ultimately saw the Horned Frogs secure more points in each quarter except for the first where they trailed by nine points after it concluded but bounced back strongly in subsequent quarters.

Looking ahead to future games without making any predictions or assumptions about outcomes: The next challenge awaiting the TCU Horned Frogs will be against Oklahoma State Cowboys at Boone Pickens Stadium on September 23rd at around half-past seven PM local time.
