First Quarter

The Horned Frogs set the tone early in the first quarter by scoring 10 points while keeping the Mountaineers scoreless. Josh Hoover, TCU's quarterback, demonstrated precision and control as he completed several key passes that advanced his team downfield. Nate McCashland contributed significantly with a field goal that added to TCU's lead.

Second Quarter

In the second quarter, both teams found their rhythm offensively. The Frogs managed another 10 points thanks to Hoover’s consistent passing game and Trent Battle’s rushing touchdown. Meanwhile, WVU responded with their first touchdown of the game but still trailed behind as they entered halftime.

Third Quarter

The third quarter was marked by defensive prowess from both sides. The Eers managed to close in on TCU's lead slightly by adding three points through a field goal. However, it was Kaleb Elarms-Orr from TCU who stood out defensively with his impressive tackling skills and one sack that halted WVU’s momentum.

Fourth Quarter

As tensions rose in the fourth quarter, each team scored once more; however, it was McCashland's crucial field goal for TCU that sealed their victory over WVU. Despite West Virginia’s late attempt to rally back into contention with another touchdown drive led by their offense, they fell short against an unyielding Frog defense led by Bud Clark and Zach Chapman.
