The recent performances of the Texas Longhorns suggest that they are on an upward trajectory. Despite a narrow defeat against Oklahoma Sooners on October 12th, where they fell short by just seven points with a final score of 27-34, there were positive takeaways from their game. The Longhorns maintained possession for over half an hour and achieved an average gain per play close to three yards. Their rushing attack was particularly effective in red zone situations, converting all five attempts into touchdowns.

In contrast, during their victory over West Virginia Mountaineers on October 5th with a scoreline of 42-31, TEX showcased their offensive prowess by racking up over four hundred total yards and averaging nearly five yards per carry on the ground. Their defense also stepped up by intercepting four passes which played a crucial role in securing that win.

However, it's worth noting that turnovers have been somewhat of an Achilles heel for TEX this season. In their September 21st clash against Oklahoma State Cowboys at home – which ended favorably for them with a score of 36-30 – they turned over the ball three times due to fumbles.

The upcoming game presents both challenges and opportunities for TEX. Kansas Jayhawks will not make it easy; however, based on previous performances and statistics from past games this season, it seems likely that if TEX can maintain strong ball control as they did against WVU and capitalize on red zone opportunities like they did against OKS while tightening up ball security overall – especially avoiding fumbles – then victory should be within reach.

TEX fans should expect another thrilling performance from their team as they look to build upon their successes and learn from past mistakes. With home-field advantage playing into their hands and given how critical each game is as we move deeper into the season's second half; every snap counts towards achieving bowl eligibility and beyond.

Mark your calendars: The showdown between Texas Longhorns and Kansas Jayhawks is set for Saturday night at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium starting at 6:00 PM local time (CT).
