Special teams played their role efficiently; field goal kickers were perfect on the day, converting both field goal attempts including one from beyond forty yards out. Extra point attempts were also flawless with three successful kicks.


Defensively, Texas showed resilience by sacking Baylor's quarterback twice and recording eight tackles for loss which helped contain their opponents' offense throughout most of the contest.

On penalties front, both teams maintained discipline as neither crossed ten penalties nor accumulated over hundred penalty yards; however, five penalties for fifty yards were called against The Longhorns.
