In front of a home crowd of 102,498 fans at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium, the Texas Longhorns showcased an impressive offensive and defensive effort. The home team's quarterback was particularly efficient, completing 22 out of 25 pass attempts for a total of 226 yards and two touchdowns. His passing rating for the game was an outstanding 190.34, with his longest completion being a substantial gain of 35 yards.

The rushing attack added to the offensive success with a total of 179 yards on the ground over 46 attempts. This included one touchdown from within seven yards out and contributed to eleven first downs for the team. The receiving corps mirrored this success by catching passes totaling another impressive figure of 226 yards.

Defensively, the Longhorns were just as formidable; they recorded six sacks for a loss of forty-two yards and forced one fumble which they recovered themselves. Their relentless pressure also resulted in an interception that stifled any momentum that Iowa State tried to build.

Special teams played their part too; although no punts were blocked or returned for touchdowns, they managed five punts totaling two hundred twenty-two yards and successfully made one field goal from twenty-two yards out.

The efficiency on third down conversions was notable as well; converting eight out of fifteen opportunities is no small feat and speaks volumes about their ability to maintain possession under pressure.

As fans look ahead, they can mark their calendars for November twenty-third when Texas will face off against Kansas Jayhawks at David Booth Memorial Stadium in Lawrence, KS. Scheduled kickoff is set for five o'clock PM Central Time (CT), and followers can tune into Fox Sports one via satellite channel two hundred nineteen to catch all live action from this upcoming game.
