The quarterback's efforts were complemented by receivers who amassed 366 receiving yards on 30 receptions and matched their quarterback's four touchdowns.


On special teams, kickoffs traveled for a total of 527 yards across nine attempts, six of which resulted in touchbacks. Field goal kicking was perfect on the day with two successful attempts out of two, including one from beyond 40 yards.


The rushing attack added balance to the offense with 107 rushing yards over 27 carries and found paydirt twice. One rush attempt broke free for an impressive run of over thirty yards but did not result in a touchdown.


Defensively, Texas Tech managed to intercept two passes from Oklahoma quarterbacks returning them for forty-eight combined return yards; however they did not manage to score off these turnovers. The defense also recorded one sack during the game.


The Sooners' offense proved slightly more potent on this occasion as they put up fifty-one points against Texas Tech's forty-six. Their ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities just edged out that of their hosts'.
