Despite commendable efforts from players like Coy Eakin who tallied over fifty-four receiving yards across five catches and Cameron Dickey who added twenty-five rushing yards on seven carries demonstrating offensive versatility; penalties were detrimental for Texas Tech as they racked up eighty penalty yards through ten infractions which impeded their progress at crucial times.
