Tulane Green Wave Overwhelmed at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium by Ole Miss Rebels in College Football Showdown

In a challenging encounter at the Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, the Tulane Green Wave faced a tough opponent in the Ole Miss Rebels. The Green Wave's season record now stands at 2-10 after succumbing to a 21-61 defeat against the Rebels, who improved their record to 10-3.

Tulane Green Wave VS Ole Miss Rebels

The game saw the Tulane offense accumulate a total of 305 yards, with their passing game contributing 166 yards. The quarterback managed an impressive passer rating of nearly 170 and completed over half of his attempts, including two touchdowns; one being an exceptional 39-yard completion. On the ground, Tulane rushed for 139 yards and secured one touchdown from close range. Despite these efforts, they were only able to convert on one out of eleven third-down attempts.

Penalties proved costly for Tulane as they racked up eleven infractions resulting in 109 penalty yards. This hindered their momentum throughout the game and contributed to their struggles on offense. In contrast, special teams had some positive notes with punting averaging nearly 46 net yards across eight attempts and kick returns totaling over 200 yards from eight returns.

Defensively, Tulane managed two sacks and forced two fumbles recovering both but failed to intercept any passes or significantly disrupt the Rebels' offensive flow. The defense was on field for almost half an hour but could not contain Ole Miss' high-powered offense.

The Rebels demonstrated why they are among this season's top contenders with a commanding performance that included scoring nineteen points in just the first quarter while keeping Tulane scoreless in both second-half quarters.

Looking ahead, fans can mark their calendars for when the Tulane Green Wave will take on UAB Blazers at Yulman Stadium in New Orleans. This upcoming game is scheduled for September twenty-sixth and will be broadcasted live on ESPN+. Supporters can expect another opportunity for Tulane to showcase their skills before a home crowd as they continue through this season's challenges.
