The Tulane Green Wave faced a challenging matchup against the Memphis Tigers, concluding with a 24-34 loss at Yulman Stadium. Tulane's Offensive Efforts

The game showcased Tulane quarterback Darian Mensah's valiant attempt to steer his team towards victory. Mensah completed 21 out of 33 attempts, amassing a total of 317 passing yards and contributing two touchdowns. His performance was notable for its precision, achieving an average of nearly ten yards per attempt and maintaining a completion percentage of 64 percent. However, his efforts were slightly marred by one interception.

On the ground, Tulane struggled to find consistent success against a stout Memphis defense. The team managed only 57 rushing yards from 18 attempts, translating to an average of just over three yards per carry. Arnold Barnes III found the end zone once on one of these carries but overall, the rushing attack lacked its usual potency.

Receiving was a brighter spot for Tulane with Mario Williams leading with seven receptions for an impressive total of 130 yards and securing one touchdown. Yulkeith Brown also made significant contributions with four catches for 93 yards.

Defensive Standouts and Special Teams

Defensively, Tulane showed moments of resilience with Sam Howard standing out by recording five tackles and achieving one sack for eleven lost yards for Memphis - highlighting his impact on defense alongside Kameron Hamilton who also recorded a sack and forced fumble adding pressure on Memphis' offense.

Special teams had their moments as well; Patrick Durkin successfully converted all three extra-point attempts in addition to nailing a crucial field goal from forty-four yards out - showcasing his reliability when called upon.

Despite these individual performances and moments of brilliance in both offense and special teams play, turnovers proved costly for Tulane as they lost two fumbles which hindered their ability to maintain momentum throughout the game.

As fans look forward to what comes next after this tough loss at home against Memphis Tigers in New Orleans’ Yulman Stadium during week fourteen’s action-packed encounter in front of over twenty-five thousand attendees – it’s clear that every play counts towards shaping this season’s outcome.
