First Quarter

The first quarter was marked by a strong defensive start from the Wave. Patrick Durkin opened the scoring with a field goal, giving Tulane an early lead of 3-0. The Pirates struggled to find their rhythm against Tulane's solid defensive line.

Second Quarter

Tulane extended their lead in the second quarter with two more field goals from Durkin and another one just before halftime. By halftime, the score was 9-0 in favor of Tulane. Jake Retzlaff showcased his passing skills with a completion rate of over 72 percent during this period.

Third Quarter

The third quarter saw a resurgence from the Pirates as they scored two touchdowns and added two extra points to take a temporary lead at 16-9. However, Tre'Von McAlpine's sack on ECU’s quarterback helped keep further damage at bay for Tulane.

Fourth Quarter

In response to ECU’s challenge, Jake Retzlaff connected with Zycarl Lewis Jr., who made an impressive catch for a touchdown that tied up the game again. Another touchdown pass by Retzlaff put them ahead once more before Durkin sealed it with his fourth successful field goal attempt.
