The Tulsa Golden Hurricane displayed a robust offensive effort against the Mustangs, accumulating a total of 398 yards over the course of the game. The team's rushing attack contributed significantly with 182 yards on 37 attempts, achieving an average of nearly five yards per carry and scoring two touchdowns, including one that was a notable 21-yard run into the end zone.

Through the air, Tulsa's passing game managed to complete half of their attempts for a total of 216 yards and three touchdowns; impressively one pass connected for exactly fifty yards resulting in a touchdown. Despite these efforts, they were unable to overcome five sacks which resulted in lost yardage but did not lead to any interceptions thrown by their quarterback.

Special teams had mixed results; while they did not manage any kick returns for touchdowns or block any punts from their opponents, they did achieve three touchbacks on six kickoffs and successfully landed one punt inside the twenty-yard line.

On defense, Tulsa managed to exert pressure on their opponents with six tackles for loss totaling seventeen negative yards against SMU and securing one sack that pushed back SMU by six yards. They also forced two fumbles during play but unfortunately lost both fumbles they themselves committed.

Penalties played a role in this encounter as well; although not excessive enough to be highlighted under our ruleset criteria (with seven penalties amounting to fifty-eight penalty yards), it is clear that discipline on both sides could have influenced certain drives during this intense contest.

The efficiency within critical areas such as redzone was commendable with three successes out of four attempts giving them seventy-five percent success rate which was slightly higher than their fourth down conversion rate where they succeeded three out of four times as well.

Looking ahead after this hard-fought battle against SMU Mustangs, fans can anticipate another opportunity for redemption when Tulsa Golden Hurricane hosts Tulane Green Wave at Skelly Field at H.A. Chapman Stadium on November fifth at eleven o'clock AM local time (Central Time). This upcoming encounter will be broadcasted live on ESPNU for supporters who wish to follow along from afar or cannot make it in person.
