Tulsa Golden Hurricane Dominates at Skelly Field in Football Showdown Against Temple Owls

The Tulsa Golden Hurricane's record improved to 3-2 after a commanding victory over the Temple Owls, who fell to 2-3. The final scoreline read 48-26 in favor of the home team at Skelly Field at H.A. Chapman Stadium.

The Tulsa Golden Hurricane showcased an impressive offensive display against the Temple Owls, accumulating a total of 533 yards with an average gain of 7.6 yards per play. The offense was on fire, with the passing game contributing significantly to this yardage; Tulsa's quarterback completed 14 out of 17 passes for a total of 244 yards and three touchdowns, boasting an exceptional completion percentage of approximately 82 percent and a passer rating over two hundred sixty-one.


On the ground, Tulsa was just as dominant, rushing for a total of 289 yards on fifty-three attempts and scoring three touchdowns. One rush stood out as it broke free for fifty yards, highlighting the explosive potential of Tulsa's running game. Their longest touchdown from rushing came from forty yards out.


Special teams also played their part efficiently; field goal kickers were perfect on the day with two made field goals from within thirty-nine yards and extra point kicks were successful all six times they were attempted.


Defensively, The Golden Hurricane managed to sack Temple’s quarterback once and recorded one interception while keeping penalties low with only two infractions costing them fifteen penalty yards throughout the game.


The fourth quarter saw The Golden Hurricane solidify their lead by adding seventeen points to their tally while holding Temple to eight points during that period. This quarter capped off what was already a strong performance by Tulsa across all four periods where they scored fourteen points in the first quarter followed by seven in second and ten in third before wrapping up with seventeen in fourth.
