Tulsa Golden Hurricane Falls to Tulane Green Wave at Skelly Field in American Football Showdown

The Tulsa Golden Hurricane's season record now stands at 5-7 after a home game defeat to the Tulane Green Wave, who improved their record to 12-2. The final score was 27-13 in favor of the visitors.

The Golden Hurricane faced a tough opponent in the Green Wave, but they showed resilience on their home turf at Skelly Field at H.A. Chapman Stadium. Despite the loss, there were notable performances from the Tulsa team. The punting unit had a busy day with six attempts totaling 279 yards and an impressive longest punt of 74 yards; five of those landed inside the 20-yard line.


On offense, Tulsa's passing game managed to complete 13 out of 25 attempts for a total of 146 yards, including a longest completion of 28 yards which also resulted in their only touchdown pass of the game. The quarterback ended with a rating of approximately 114 and was sacked four times. The rushing attack added another dimension with an additional nine first downs from their ground efforts totaling over one hundred yards.

Defensively, Tulsa recorded two sacks and four tackles for loss while also securing an interception that was returned for twenty-three yards. Their defensive pressure resulted in three hits on Tulane's quarterback.


Special teams contributed as well with field goal kickers achieving perfection by making both attempted field goals; one from as far as forty-six yards out. Kickoff duties saw four kicks travel for two hundred forty-seven total yards and one touchback.

Penalties were relatively low for both teams with Tulsa committing just five penalties amounting to forty-four penalty yards throughout the game.
