Tulsa Golden Hurricane Secures Victory at Yulman Stadium in Football Showdown

The Tulsa Golden Hurricane now stands at 7-6 after a hard-fought game against the Tulane Green Wave, who are left with a 2-10 record. The final score was 20-13, reflecting the intense competition on the field.

At Yulman Stadium, home of the Tulane Green Wave, fans witnessed an engaging contest where the Tulsa Golden Hurricane emerged victorious. The game began with an assertive start by Tulsa, putting up 10 points in the first quarter while keeping Tulane scoreless. By halftime, both teams had added three more points to their tallies.


Tulsa's offense was led by their quarterback who completed 19 out of 30 passes for a total of 188 yards and one touchdown pass. Despite throwing three interceptions, he managed to maintain a passer rating of around 107. The longest pass completion was an impressive 59 yards which set up crucial scoring opportunities for Tulsa.


The rushing department also contributed significantly to Tulsa's offensive efforts with a total of 194 yards on the ground over 47 attempts. This included one rushing touchdown from within the red zone that spanned fifteen yards into the end zone. Their average gain per play stood at five yards.


Special teams played their part as well; two successful field goals were made including one from just inside fifty yards out contributing six points to Tulsa's scoreline. The kicking unit also executed two extra point attempts successfully after each touchdown.


Defensively, Tulsa applied pressure throughout the game recording two sacks and seven tackles for loss which amounted to negative fifteen yards against Tulane’s offense. They held firm during critical moments and did not allow any interceptions or fumble recoveries by Tulane’s defense.


In terms of discipline on both sides, penalties were minimal with only three assessed against Tulsa totaling thirty-five penalty yards and none reaching excessive numbers that would significantly alter game dynamics.


As time expired in regulation play neither team could secure additional points leading into overtime where once again it was Tulsa who capitalized scoring seven points while holding off any response from Tulane sealing their victory at twenty points to thirteen.
