Game Highlights

The game was characterized by strong defensive plays and missed opportunities. The Golden Hurricane managed to put up 10 points in the third quarter but couldn't sustain the momentum into the fourth. Kirk Francis led Tulsa's passing efforts with 153 yards, including a long touchdown pass of 63 yards, contributing significantly to their total yardage. However, his performance was marred by an interception and three sacks.

On the ground, Anthony Watkins emerged as Tulsa's leading rusher with 23 yards on seven attempts. Although not enough to secure victory, his efforts highlighted a struggling rushing attack that collectively amassed only 75 yards from 31 attempts.

Special teams had moments of brilliance as well; Seth Morgan successfully converted a field goal from 46 yards out for Tulsa's first points in the third quarter. Punter Angus Davies also had an impressive day on special teams for Tulsa, punting five times for an average of over forty-one net yards per attempt and placing three inside the twenty-yard line.

Defensive Standouts

Defensively, Gavin Potter stood out for Tulsa with six tackles and two tackles for loss among eight combined tackles - showcasing his ability to disrupt plays in the backfield. Dayne Hodge led all defenders with seven tackles and one assist but ultimately couldn't prevent Temple from scoring twenty points over four quarters.

Jehlen Cannady made significant contributions on defense as well by securing an interception that provided one of few turnovers during this matchup. Despite these individual performances, it wasn't enough to hold off Temple's offense throughout all four quarters.

Looking ahead, fans can catch Tulsa Golden Hurricane back in action against UTSA Roadrunners at Skelly Field at H.A. Chapman Stadium in Tulsa on October 26th at 3:30 PM EDT broadcasted on ESPN+. This upcoming home game presents another opportunity for Tulsa to turn their season around and build momentum going forward.
