In an intense game that saw the UNLV Rebels put up a strong fight, they ultimately fell short against the Air Force Falcons. The game was marked by impressive offensive plays from both sides, but it was the Falcons who edged out with a four-point victory. Despite this setback, there were several notable performances from the UNLV team that deserve recognition.

The Rebels' rushing attack was particularly effective, amassing 266 yards over 39 attempts and scoring three touchdowns. One rush stood out as it broke through for an impressive 55-yard touchdown run. This play contributed to their average gain of six yards per play throughout the game.

UNLV's special teams also made significant contributions with their punting unit blocking one punt and placing two inside the opponent's 20-yard line. In terms of field goals, they were flawless; all three attempts sailed through the uprights with their longest being a solid 40-yard kick.

On defense, despite not intercepting any passes or defending any passes specifically, they managed to force five fumbles and recover all five as well – showcasing their ability to capitalize on turnovers effectively.

Passing proved more challenging for UNLV; completing only twelve out of twenty-seven pass attempts for a total of 145 yards without any passing touchdowns. Their completion percentage rounded to forty-four percent and included one interception by Air Force's defense.

The efficiency within scoring range was perfect for UNLV; they succeeded on all four red zone opportunities as well as both goal-to-go situations presented during the game. However, third-down conversions were successful thirty-six percent of times attempted while fourth-down efforts did not yield success on this occasion.

Air Force's home advantage at Falcon Stadium seemed to have played its part in securing their win despite being down seventeen points after the first quarter. They rallied back steadily over subsequent quarters adding seven points in second quarter followed by thirteen points in third quarter before sealing their victory with fourteen additional points in final period.
