The UNLV Rebels started strong, outscoring their opponents 17-7 in the first quarter. The offense was firing on all cylinders as they amassed a total of 330 yards throughout the game. A significant contribution came from their rushing attack which accounted for 219 yards on 31 attempts, highlighted by an impressive longest run that broke free for a remarkable 75-yard touchdown.

The passing game for UNLV had its struggles but managed to gain ground with completions totaling up to 111 yards. However, two interceptions thrown by Rebel quarterbacks hindered their momentum and contributed to one of two turnovers during the contest.

Defensively, UNLV showed tenacity with one sack and twelve tackles for loss while also forcing two fumbles and recovering both. Their defensive efforts were further bolstered by an interception return that covered a distance of 45 yards.

Special teams played their part too; UNLV's punting unit worked hard to keep field position in check despite six attempts averaging about forty-one net yards per punt. Additionally, they successfully converted all three extra-point kicks and made good on their single field goal attempt from within twenty-nine yards.

Despite these efforts, penalties proved costly for UNLV as they accrued seven infractions resulting in ninety-five penalty yards against them – nearly reaching triple digits which could have been another setback had it gone any higher.

As fans look ahead after this tough loss at home, they can mark their calendars for when the University of Nevada Las Vegas Rebels will next take to Allegiant Stadium's turf against San Jose State Spartans on October 21st at eight PM local time (Las Vegas). This upcoming encounter promises more exciting football action and will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network satellite channel two hundred twenty-one for those who wish to follow along from afar.
