UNLV Rebels Outmaneuver Utah State Aggies in High-Scoring Affair

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas Rebels improved their season record to 5-1 after a commanding victory over the Utah State Aggies, who fell to 1-5. The game was a showcase of UNLV's offensive firepower and strategic defense. Quarterback Hajj-Malik Williams led the charge with an exceptional performance, completing 13 out of 20 attempts for a total of 233 yards and three touchdowns. On the ground, UNLV's rushing attack was unstoppable. Kylin James dashed through Utah State's defense for 105 yards on just 13 carries, finding the end zone twice. Ricky White III emerged as Williams' favorite target in the passing game, racking up seven receptions for a whopping total of 138 yards and two touchdowns. His ability to break away from defenders played a crucial role in extending drives and ultimately scoring points.


Defensively, UNLV showcased their prowess by recording three sacks and forcing one fumble which they recovered. Linebacker Mani Powell made his presence felt with one sack contributing significantly to limiting Utah State's offensive production.

Special teams also played a pivotal role in UNLV’s victory with Caden Chittenden successfully converting all but one extra point attempt and adding field goals from distances that challenged both skill and strategy.


The defensive unit’s ability to intercept Utah State quarterbacks three times further exemplified UNLV’s dominance on both sides of the ball. Jackson Woodard stood out defensively by securing two interceptions himself which were critical in halting any momentum shifts towards Utah State.


UNLV's comprehensive approach not only stifled Utah State's efforts but also highlighted their balanced attack across all facets of play—offense, defense, and special teams alike contributed equally towards sealing this win.
