In a compelling display of skill and teamwork, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) Rebels secured a decisive 41-20 victory over the San Diego State Aztecs. This win at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas marks an impressive season for the Rebels, improving their record to 8-2, while the Aztecs fall to 3-7.

The game was characterized by UNLV's dominant offensive strategy and robust defense. Quarterback Hajj-Malik Williams led the charge with 244 passing yards, achieving a completion percentage of nearly 69 percent and contributing one touchdown. His performance was complemented by Cameron Friel who added another dimension to the passing game with an impeccable completion rate of 100 percent from his three attempts.


On the ground, UNLV showcased their depth in running back talent. Greg Burrell stood out with his dynamic rushing ability, gaining 58 yards on ten attempts and scoring one touchdown. Jai'Den Thomas also made significant contributions with 55 rushing yards on eleven carries, finding the end zone once as well.


The receiving corps played no small part in this victory. Jacob De Jesus led with seven receptions for a total of 75 yards, demonstrating his crucial role in moving chains for UNLV. Ricky White III also made notable contributions with five receptions totaling 68 yards.


Defensively, UNLV was just as impressive. The team tallied two sacks and seven tackles for loss against SDSU's offense. Jalen Catalon highlighted his defensive prowess by securing an interception and adding a sack to his stat line.


Special Teams Impact


Special teams were not left behind in contributing to this comprehensive team win. Caden Chittenden was perfect on field goal attempts hitting both tries including a long of 46 yards which added crucial points for UNLV.


Marshall Nichols' punting efforts were instrumental in controlling field position throughout the game; he managed an average net yardage that kept SDSU often pinned back into their half.
