UTSA Roadrunners Outpace North Texas Mean Green at DATCU Stadium in Football Showdown

The University of Texas at San Antonio Roadrunners improved their season record to 6-3 after a hard-fought victory over the North Texas Mean Green, who fell to 3-6. The final score stood at 37-29 in favor of the Roadrunners.

In an impressive display of offensive versatility, the UTSA Roadrunners amassed a total of 421 yards against the Mean Green. The ground game was particularly effective, with the team rushing for a remarkable 287 yards over 51 attempts, averaging about six yards per carry. This relentless rushing attack resulted in four touchdowns, with the longest run being a significant gain of 44 yards and the longest touchdown from an eleven-yard dash into the end zone.


The passing game contributed to this balanced offense as well. Although no touchdowns came through the air, UTSA's quarterback managed to complete thirteen out of twenty-five passes for a total of 134 yards. The longest pass connected for twenty-eight yards and helped maintain momentum throughout crucial moments.


Special teams also played a pivotal role in this matchup. UTSA's kicker was perfect on the day, successfully converting all three field goal attempts with his longest being from forty-three yards out. Additionally, all four extra point kicks sailed through without issue.


Defensively, UTSA showed tenacity by sacking North Texas' quarterback three times for a loss totaling twenty-four yards and intercepting two passes which they returned for eighty-one yards combined; one interception return stretched seventy-eight yards downfield but did not result in a touchdown.


Penalties were minimal during this contest as UTSA committed only four penalties amounting to fifty penalty-yards throughout the entire game.
