UTSA Roadrunners Dominate at Toyota Stadium Against Marshall Thundering Herd in Football Showdown

The University of Texas at San Antonio Roadrunners ended the season with a 9-4 record after a commanding victory over the Marshall Thundering Herd, who concluded their season at 6-7. The final score was 35-17 in favor of the Roadrunners.

In an impressive display at Toyota Stadium, the UTSA Roadrunners showcased their offensive capabilities against the home team. The Roadrunners' quarterback had a solid performance, completing 22 out of 31 pass attempts for a total of 251 yards and two touchdowns. His longest completion was for 44 yards, which also resulted in a touchdown. Despite facing pressure from the defense and being sacked twice, he maintained an impressive passer rating of approximately 147.


The running game also contributed significantly to UTSA's offense with three rushing touchdowns and accumulating a total of 135 yards on the ground. Their longest run spanned for 26 yards while their longest touchdown rush was from a distance of just under half that length.


On special teams, UTSA's kickoffs covered an impressive distance totaling to about three football fields (337 yards), including two touchbacks. Although they did not attempt any field goals during this game, they were perfect on extra point kicks with five successful conversions out of five attempts.


Defensively, UTSA made its presence felt by recording six sacks and seven tackles for loss against Marshall's offense; these sacks resulted in lost yardage totaling around half the length of a football field (40 yards). The defense also managed to force one fumble and intercepted one pass which they returned for an additional gain equivalent to more than half the length of the field (57 yards).


The Thundering Herd struggled to keep pace with UTSA throughout most parts of this game. They were unable to capitalize on their timeouts as all three remained unused by game end. Their offense faced considerable resistance from UTSA’s defense but still managed some highlights including scoring first in both opening quarter and second quarter before being held scoreless in latter halves.
