First Quarter

The opening quarter saw both teams struggling to find their rhythm offensively. Neither team managed to put points on the board as defenses held strong. The Runners' defense was particularly effective, led by linebacker Shad Banks Jr., who contributed significantly with his tackling prowess.

Second Quarter

The second quarter brought more action as UTSA's offense began to click. Quarterback Owen McCown connected on a long pass play that resulted in a touchdown for running back Robert Henry Jr., who sprinted for an impressive 74-yard score. Kicker Michael Petro added three more points with a successful field goal from 40 yards out, giving UTSA a lead going into halftime.

Third Quarter

Both teams returned from halftime determined but were unable to change the scoreboard during the third quarter. The Runners' defense continued its solid performance, highlighted by Nnanna Anyanwu's three sacks that kept pressure on CSU's quarterback and disrupted their offensive flow.

Fourth Quarter

In the final quarter, Colorado State mounted a comeback attempt by scoring two touchdowns; however, they missed one crucial extra point attempt which proved costly in such a tight contest. Meanwhile, UTSA managed another touchdown drive capped off by Henry Jr.'s rushing prowess once again finding pay dirt for his second score of the day.

Overall defensive efforts were key throughout this game as both sides showcased resilience under pressure situations leading up until those last moments where every play counted towards determining who would emerge victorious from this hard-fought battle between these competitive programs - truly encapsulating what makes college sports so captivating!
