The Vanderbilt Commodores entered Williams-Brice Stadium hoping to improve their record but found themselves outmatched by the South Carolina Gamecocks. Despite their efforts, the Commodores were unable to contain the home team's offense. The Vanderbilt defense managed to intercept one pass but could not turn it into significant points on the board. On special teams, they blocked one punt and achieved an average of nearly 39 net yards per punt over eight attempts.

Offensively, Vanderbilt struggled to find consistency in both their passing and rushing games. They completed just under half of their passes for a total of 104 yards including one touchdown pass that covered 19 yards – a highlight in an otherwise challenging game for them. Their ground game amassed 130 yards over 42 attempts but failed to cross into the end zone.

Vanderbilt's kicking game saw two kickoffs travel for a total of 127 yards; however, they missed an extra point attempt after their sole touchdown. In terms of discipline on field play, they maintained composure with only two penalties amounting to ten penalty yards assessed against them.

On third down conversions, Vanderbilt had some success moving chains six out of sixteen times but failed on both fourth-down attempts they made during the course of play which spanned over seventy plays and totaled up to seventeen first downs.

As fans look ahead after this tough outing for Vanderbilt Commodores football team, attention turns towards future contests where improvements can be made and lessons learned from this experience applied.

Looking forward for the Vanderbilt Commodores is another challenging encounter as they are set to visit Neyland Stadium in Knoxville against Tennessee Volunteers on November 25th at 3:30 PM Eastern Time. Fans can catch all action live as it will be broadcasted on SEC Network via satellite channel number six hundred eleven.
