In an intense game of football, the Vanderbilt Commodores showcased their offensive capabilities despite falling short against the Kentucky Wildcats. The home team's passing game accumulated 231 yards with a completion percentage of approximately 43 percent and one touchdown. However, interceptions proved costly for the Commodores as three were thrown, two of which were returned for touchdowns by the opposition.

The rushing attack added another dimension to their offense, contributing 97 yards and scoring two touchdowns. Their longest rush was only eight yards, indicating a hard-fought battle on every carry. The red zone efficiency was impeccable; Vanderbilt capitalized on all four opportunities presented to them.

Special teams also played a pivotal role for the Commodores; they successfully converted both field goal attempts with the longest being from 41 yards out. Additionally, kickoffs totaled 376 yards with four resulting in touchbacks.

Defensively, Vanderbilt managed to sack Kentucky's quarterback once and recorded five tackles for loss while defending passes twice effectively enough to intercept them on two occasions. These turnovers provided crucial opportunities for their offense but weren't sufficient to turn the tide of the game.
