Defensive Dominance

The Commodores' defense was relentless throughout the game, racking up three sacks and six tackles for loss against the Tigers. Aeneas DiCosmo and Miles Capers led the charge on defense, each recording a sack and contributing to Auburn's limited offensive output. CJ Taylor not only topped the tackle charts with seven but also forced a crucial fumble which De'Rickey Wright recovered, halting an Auburn drive and showcasing Vanderbilt's defensive prowess.

Special Teams Shine

On special teams, Jesse Mirco played an instrumental role in field positioning with his punting excellence. Mirco punted eight times for 423 yards, including three punts inside the 20-yard line and one longest punt of 64 yards. His efforts ensured that Auburn faced long fields on many of their possessions. Brock Taylor also contributed significantly by successfully converting all extra point attempts and nailing a critical field goal from 31 yards out to add to Vanderbilt's lead.

Offensive Highlights

Offensively, quarterback Diego Pavia managed to connect on key passes when it mattered most. Pavia completed nine out of his twenty-two attempts for 143 yards and two touchdowns without throwing an interception – maintaining an efficient passing game under pressure. His connection with Eli Stowers for one touchdown demonstrated their effective red-zone strategy. Sedrick Alexander led in rushing with ten carries for twenty-eight yards as part of Vanderbilt’s effort to balance their attack between air and ground games.
