The Virginia Cavaliers delivered an impressive performance on their home turf, securing a narrow victory against the visiting Duke Blue Devils. The offense was particularly effective through the air, with the passing game accumulating 278 yards and contributing three touchdowns to their total score. The quarterback's precision was on display as he completed 70 percent of his passes and achieved an outstanding passer rating of nearly 181.


The ground game also played its part in this balanced offensive attack. With 41 rushing attempts, the team amassed 170 yards. Special teams had their moments too; all three field goal attempts were successful with one being from beyond 40 yards out. This flawless kicking performance added nine crucial points to the scoreboard for Virginia.


Defensively, Virginia managed to apply pressure on Duke's offense by recording one sack and three tackles for loss while also forcing one fumble which they recovered themselves. Their defensive resilience was further demonstrated by intercepting one pass that helped shift momentum in favor of Virginia.

Penalties did play a significant role in this contest as well; Virginia accumulated twelve penalties totaling an impactful 117 yards against them. Despite this setback, they managed to keep their composure and secure victory.


The fans witnessed consistent scoring throughout each quarter with both teams finding points in every period of play – seven points for Virginia in Q1 followed by three in Q2; then adding fourteen more points during Q3 before sealing it with six additional points in Q4.
