Virginia's strategy was a masterclass in balance, with both offensive and defensive units contributing significantly to the victory. The offense, under the leadership of quarterback Anthony Colandrea, racked up an impressive total of 430 yards. Colandrea's arm was on full display as he completed 33 of his 43 passes for a staggering 357 yards and three touchdowns, despite being intercepted twice. His accuracy was noteworthy, connecting on nearly 77 percent of his attempts and averaging eight yards per throw.

Receiver Malachi Fields emerged as Colandrea's top target, hauling in eleven passes for a substantial gain of 148 yards. His performance proved vital in advancing Virginia's offensive drives and setting up scoring opportunities. Trell Harris complemented Fields' efforts with seven catches for 91 yards and added a touchdown to his name.

The defensive effort from Virginia was equally compelling, highlighted by six sacks and one fumble recovery over the course of the game. Antonio Clary shone brightly on this front; not only did he contribute three tackles and assist on seven others, but he also sacked Wake Forest's quarterback once and recovered a fumble.

Special teams were not left behind in contributing to this narrow victory. Punter Daniel Sparks delivered when called upon, averaging nearly forty-seven yards across five punts while kicker Will Bettridge was perfect on the day—converting all four extra-point tries along with nailing his lone field goal attempt from nineteen yards out.

Despite facing setbacks including fifty penalty yards over five infractions and turnovers that momentarily threatened to swing momentum in favor of Wake Forest, Virginia showcased remarkable resilience by controlling possession for almost twenty-eight minutes.

Looking forward to their next challenge, Virginia is set to welcome Maryland Terrapins at Scott Stadium in Charlottesville come September 14th at eight o'clock PM Eastern Daylight Time. This encounter promises another opportunity for fans to rally behind their team live on ACC Network as they seek to extend their winning streak into this promising season.
